Learn an effective method to determine the amount of training needed to allow learners to develop the skills and knowledge required by the relevant unit(s), before they are assessed.
About this Webinar
Competency-based training is about developing competencies and not the time required for individual learners to achieve them. Training should depend on students’ prior skills, knowledge, experiences and other factors. However, RTOs are required to determine an amount of training (weeks, hours) suitable for each learner’s cohort.
What you will learn
This webinar will help you to determine the amount of training required for a particular training program ensuring compliance and the integrity of the unit/qualification outcomes.
You will learn how to set up the learning journey for your learner’s cohort based on their previous skills, knowledge and experience; your delivery approach, and the complexity of the course to be delivered, using the AQF Volume of Learning Indicators as a benchmark.
By the end of the webinar, you will be able to construct a rationale to demonstrate compliance with clauses 1.1 and 1.2 of the Standards for RTOs for all your courses (shorter and longer durations). Bonus: You will also have some flowcharts and forms ready to use in your RTO, and actionable strategies you can implement right away.

Javier is an excellent presenter who knows his subject matter and how to present it so that everyone can understand. Because this particular topic is complex additional time was required. Javier did something that does not happen very often - he asked if participants could stay on longer and he didn't rush through the final points of the session. I have found that every interaction with Insources has been professional, informative and completely relevant to my work. Thank you
