Innovation and Business Skills Australia is scoping the development of a new Certificate IV qualification for inclusion in the TAE10 Training and Assessment Training Package. The proposed qualification will be designed to equip VET practitioners with skills and knowledge in the delivery and assessment of foundation skills.

The Foundation Skills Training Package (FSTP) is designed to support the integrated development of vocational and foundation skills, including language, literacy and numeracy (LLN). Uptake and implementation of the FSTP will be dependent on widespread awareness and understanding of foundation skills within the VET workforce and the availability of specialist skills in the development and implementation of integrated approaches to the delivery and assessment of foundation and vocational skills.
